Iowa did not become a State until the end of 1846, more than 30 years after the War of 1812 had ended.  However, the State of Iowa does have War of 1812 connections from the siege of Fort Madison in 1813 to the large number of War of 1812 veterans who later made Iowa their home.

In the 1972 book Discovering Historic Iowa by LeRoy G. Pratt, the author listed four Iowa counties with a link to the War of 1812.
